The Kiwanis Club of Chatham-Kent is once again looking to collect your empty bottles and cans for recycling and to help fund the delivery of books to local children.

The Kiwanis will use the funds in partnership with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to support children’s literacy.

The club asks residents to donate empty liquor, wine, and beer bottles, as well as any alcohol or beer cans, between Dec. 27 ad Jan. 3. These donations will directly fund the distribution of books to children in Chatham-Kent.

“The impact of reading and imagination on a child’s life is immeasurable,” said Jennifer Paradis, membership chair for the Kiwanis Club, said in a media release. “By participating in Bottles for Books, you’re not only helping to recycle and support a cleaner environment but also investing in a child’s education and imagination.”

To participate, visit https://www.chatham-kentkiwanis.com/ to fill out a form for bottle pickup or to arrange a drop-off location.
