Serious crash near Charing Cross

A Blenheim man is fighting for his life in a London hospital following a crash on Charing Cross Road Thursday afternoon.

Chatham-Kent police say the single-vehicle crash took place about 3:30 p.m. A 57-year-old Blenheim man suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash, and was air-lifted to London Health Science Centre.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information surrounding the particulars of this incident are asked to contact Const. Kristen Charron of the Traffic Management Unit at 519-355-1092.

Dumpster fire

An early morning dumpster fire on King Street West in Chatham has police seeking whomever started it.

Police say the incident took place about 5:30 a.m.

The fire caused some damages to a local business.

Missing youth located

A missing Chatham-Kent teen, reported on Thursday, has been found safe and sound, police say.

Truck taken

Someone drove off with a truck that didn’t belong to them Thursday afternoon.

Police say a 2023 Ford F150 was parked at the front of a field while work was being done.  The truck was taken sometime between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

The truck is light brown in colour with a Leer cap and was last seen with license plate 1111FY.
