Man charged for intimate partner violence

A Wheatley man is in jail awaiting his next court date after an morning arrest in Wheatley on Monday.

Chatham-Kent police got the call just before 1 a.m. Monday for a report of intimate partner violence.

When police arrived, the suspect had fled the scene, and was not located.

Officers learned the man was wanted for several other charges.

At about 10:45 a.m., they had tracked him down and made an arrest.

A 25-year-old Wheatley man faces multiple charges, including assault and uttering threats.

Following his bail hearing, he was remanded into custody with a future court date.

Just as he stepped out into freedom, a Windsor man was arrested by Chatham-Kent police.

Police here received word Monday afternoon from the Southwest Detention Centre of the release of a 27-year-old Windsor man, who faced outstanding warrants issued by the Chatham-Kent Police Service in relation to an intimate partner violence investigation. 

Officers attended and arrested him on the strength of the outstanding warrants.

C-K police helped the OPP track down a pair of suspects Monday morning.

At about 6:20 a.m., the OPP located a vehicle that had been involved in a break and enter within their jurisdiction. 

Three individuals fled from the vehicle; however, one was arrested. 

The OPP contacted Chatham-Kent police, requesting assistance. As a result of the collaborative efforts, the two other individuals were located and arrested, and transported by OPP for processing.
