Editor: We would like to sincerely thank and give our appreciation to Chatham-Kent Fire & Rescue and the Enbridge Gas employee for their professional assistance recently.
One evening our two carbon monoxide detectors sounded their alarms, which prompted a 911 call. The calm actions of the firemen and the Enbridge Gas employee soon pinpointed two gas appliances leaking over 10 times the allowable limit, in other words, “slowly killing us.”
we urge everyone, whether you rent or own, to have at least one smoke detector and if you have natural gas to also have a carbon monoxide detector on each floor of your home.
Call the fire service (not 911) if you’re not sure if you have adequate monitors.
