Seed libraries return Sept. 3

Green thumbs are encouraged to stop by branches of the Chatham-Kent Public Library in September to scoop up some seeds.’

The library is once again running Grows Seed Library: Fall Native Plants to Ontario and Canada.

Beginning Sept. 3, all branches will have a small variety of native plant seeds available for check out.

This seed library contains native plant seeds for many popular local plants including Black-Eyed Susan, Butterfly Weed, Swamp and Common Milkweed, Purple Coneflower, and New England Asters, to name a few.

The seed library provides free seeds for residents to borrow so they can grow healthy gardens, have access to affordable flowers to create beautiful spaces in their own backyards and communities. All you need is a valid CKPL library card, and you can check out five packages of seeds.
