A Chatham man faces charges after someone tried to assault a woman Monday evening.
Police received a 911 call and they investigated.
Officers learned a man had tried to assault and threatened his former wife’s life.
A 37-year-old Chatham man is charged with assault, assault cause bodily harm, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
Tools stolen
Sometime over the last couple days, someone got into a garage at an address on West Street in Chatham and stole approximately $1,000 worth of Milwaukee and Stihl construction tools.

Warrant arrests
On Monday morning, police arrested a 34-year-old Chatham man on the strength of a Chatham-Kent police warrant in connection to an intimate partner violence investigation.
The man was remanded into custody and transported to Southwest Regional Detention Centre until his next court appearance in early August.
That afternoon, police picked up a 21-year-old Chatham woman on the strength of a Chatham-Kent police warrant in connection to an aggravated assault investigation.
An errant 911 call led to the arrest of another Chatham resident.
On Monday afternoon, police received the call from a residence on Oxley Drive in Chatham.
Upon checking on the wellbeing of the caller, a 19-year-old Chatham man was arrested on the strength of a Chatham-Kent police warrant in connection to an intimate partner violence investigation, as well as a DNA warrant.
And a 41-year-old Chatham man was arrested on the strength of a Chatham-Kent police warrant in connection to a mischief investigation.
About 1:45 a.m. Tuesday, ran into a 39-year-old Chatham woman, and she was arrested on the strength of yet another C-K police warrant. This one was in connection with a theft investigation.
