Man allegedly assaults his mother
A Blenheim man faces assault charges after Chatham-Kent police say a man threatened and then hit his mother Thursday.
Police were calls shortly after 5:30 p.m. to a family dispute on Sixteenth Line in Raleigh Township.
Officers learned a man and his mother were arguing, but things escalated when the man made comments to harm his mother and proceeded to assault her, police say.
A 28-year-old Blenheim man is charged with assault and uttering threats.
Near collision leads to impaired charge
A Windsor woman faces impaired driving charges after police were alerted to erratic driving Thursday night on Longwoods Road.
Information was received the vehicle was driving erratically and nearly collided with another vehicle.
Officers located the vehicle on the side of the road with its four-way flashers activated, west of Lindsay Road. The officer believed the woman driving to be under the influence of alcohol and arrested her. She was transported to police headquarters for breath tests.
A 53-year-old Windsor woman iss charged with impaired driving and having a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limit.
B&E arrest
A Belle River man walked into police headquarters Thursday evening to face charges of break and enter.
Police say the man was wanted for a July 10 break-and-enter investigation that took place at a Queen Street South business in Tilbury. During the incident, a door was damaged, and a chair was stolen.
A 49-year-old Belle River man is charged with break-and-enter and possession of stolen property. The chair was returned.
