Brothers fight; one arrested
On man faces charges after police say he punched out his brother Monday afternoon.
Police were called to an address on Madonna Crescent in Chatham on Monday afternoon shortly before 4 p.m. after someone reported a disturbance.
Officers learned two brothers argued and it escalated into one assaulting the other. Police also learned the same man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to an uttering threats charge.
A 35-year-old Chatham Kent man is charged with failing to attend court for fingerprints, two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and three counts of uttering threats.
Assault suspect surrenders
A Chatham man walked into police headquarters Monday morning to answer to charges.
Police confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant in relation to a June 1 assault investigation.
A 38-year-old Chatham man was arrested and held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose, assault, assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and two counts of theft.
Theft charges
A bike ride on Bay Line in Dover Township got a suspect spotted by police and arrested Monday afternoon.
An officer saw the man and confirmed he was wanted on several outstanding warrant in relation to multiple theft investigations in Chatham.
A 43-year-old Chatham Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: failing to comply with an appearance notice, failing to comply with a probation order, six counts of possession of stolen property, and seven counts of theft.
Warrant arrest
Chatham-Kent police spotted and arrested a man Monday morning wanted in connection to a theft investigation.
An officer spotted the man about 6:45 a.m. on Colborne Street in Chatham.
Police say he was wanted in relation to the aforementioned theft, and for failing to attend court in May.
A 41-year-old Wallaceburg man is charged with failing to attend court, break-and-enter, and mischief.
Missed court dates
At 7:34 a.m., police located a man on Colborne Street in Chatham. The officer confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in March in relation to several investigations.
A 30-year-old Chatham man is charged with failing to attend court, assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, theft, and possession of stolen property.
Less than 90 minutes later, a man was arrested at Chatham-Kent Police headquarters. The officer confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to an impaired driving investigation.
A 39-year-old Blenheim man faces charges of impaired driving and failing to comply with an appearance notice.
At 4:43 p.m., police located a man on Princess Street North in Chatham. The officer confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to an October 2023 break-and-enter investigation.
A 48-year-old Chatham man was arrested. He is currently facing the following charges: break-and-enter, mischief and failing to comply with an appearance notice.
At 11:49 p.m., police located a woman on Wellington Street West in Chatham. The officer confirmed the woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a 2019 theft investigation.
A 64-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and released with a future court date. She is currently facing the following charges: failing to attend court, failing to comply with an appearance notice, theft, and public intoxication.
At 4:40 p.m., police located a man on Grand Avenue East in Chatham. The officer confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court last month.
A 42-year-old Chatham Kent man was arrested and released with a future court date. He is currently facing the following charges: failing to attend court and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
