Boozed up at liquor store

Chatham-Kent police say officers had to come an arrest an elderly man at a Chatham LCBO on Tuesday afternoon.

Police were called just before 3 p.m. to the LCBO on Wellington Street in Chatham for a disturbance.

Officers learned the man was refused service and became argumentative with the staff, police say. Officers located the man and found him intoxicated and unable to care for himself.

A 75-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was issued a Provincial Offences Notice and held until she was sober.

Driver arrested for skipping court date

A Tuesday morning traffic stop turned into a trip to police headquarters for a Walpole Island woman.

Police say an officer pulled over a vehicle about 8:20 a.m. At that time, they officer located a woman wanted on an outstanding warrant for missing a court appearance last February.

A 43-year-old Walpole Island woman was arrested and released with a new court date.

Parole faux pas

A Wallaceburg man walked into police headquarters Tuesday afternoon to answer to charges.

A 58-year-old Wallaceburg man was wanted for breaching a probation order by failing to participate in programs as directed by the probation officer. The man was arrested and released with a future court date.  

Bail violations

Police say a Chatham-Kent man went where he shouldn’t have on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers responded to a variety store on King Street East in Chatham to investigate a bail violation about 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

Upon arrival, officers located the man and confirmed he was bound by release conditions prohibiting him from attending the address.

A 28-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was charged with failing to comply with an undertaking and held pending a bail hearing.
