Two arrested after drugs found

An early morning traffic complaint led to two people being arrested on Saturday morning.

A Chatham-Kent police officer spotted a vehicle in a parking lot on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg about 6 a.m. that was part of that traffic complaint.

Police say the driver, a woman, was arrested on a warrant for failing to attend court.

The passenger, a man, was also arrested for missing a court date.

As the officer searched the vehicle due to the arrests, they found about 40 grams of fentanyl and 9-mm ammunition

Police say the man was also bound by a curfew and a weapons prohibition.

A 37-year-old Chatham man is charged with several breaches and drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.

A 45-year-old woman also faces weapons offenses charges and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Drugs, assault, robbery

Sunday did not begin well for a Chatham man, as police arrested him shortly after midnight.

The 35-year-old man was wanted for warrants for assault with a weapon, and robbery.

During a search, police found nearly 11 grams of fentanyl on him, so he also faces a drug possession charge.
