Canada-wide warrant arrest in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent police scooped up a man Monday night in Wallaceburg, and it turns out he was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

At 8 p.m., police responded to a theft investigation at a business on Warwick Street in Wallaceburg.

Officers located the man and confirmed he was wanted on the Canada-wide warrant.

A 57-year-old Toronto man was arrested and transported to the Southwest Regional Detention Centre.

Assault charges

On June 11 at 7:37 p.m., police responded to Moonstone Crescent in Chatham for an assault investigation and learned a woman was involved in an altercation with a man.

Through investigation, police say they learned the woman, on different occasions, threw a bottle at the man’s truck, causing a broken window, threw household items at him and assaulted him. The woman was contacted by phone and advised of the pending charges.

A day later, on Monday just after 10 a.m., police say a 31-year-old Staples woman turned herself into the police. She was charged with assault and two counts of mischief.

B&E arrest

A Tilbury man faces charges following a dispute on Queen Street in that community Monday afternoon.

Chatham-Kent police say officers responded to a complaint of a dispute at 2:45 p.m.

Police attended and addressed the disturbance. However, at this point, police say they learned the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for a break and enter investigation that occurred on March 12.

A 21-year-old Tilbury man was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was charged with breaking and entering.

Missed court date

Police learned the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court concerning assault charges from a 2020 investigation.

The man was initially charged with assault, mischief and two counts of assault with a weapon.

A 26-year-old Tilbury man was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was held pending a bail hearing.
