Arguing where he wasn’t wanted

A local man has to answer to charges after police say they found a man where he wasn’t supposed to be early this morning.

On May 1 at 12:29 a.m., police responded to Baird Avenue in Chatham for a family dispute.

Upon arrival, police located the man inside a family member’s residence.

Police confirmed the man entered a probation order in October 2022 with conditions not to communicate or be within 100 metres of this family member.

The man was arrested.

A 39-year-old Chatham-Kent man was transported to police headquarters and released on a future court date.

Skipped court date

A Sunday night stroll for a Chatham man led to an arrest.

Police say an officer observed the man on Lacroix Street in Chatham while on patrol just after 8 p.m. Sunday. The officer recognized the man from previous encounters.

The officer confirmed a warrant was outstanding for the man and arrested him.

A 33-year-old Chatham man was charged with failing to attend court. He was transported to police headquarters and … yes, released with a future court date.
