The first three months of 2023 were profitable for the Municipality of Chatham-Kent in terms of revenue sharing from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
The municipality received $427,620 for the period from Jan. 1 to March 31 for hosting the Cascades Casino in Chatham.
During OLG’s fiscal year (April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023), Chatham-Kent received $1,692,836.
Since the gaming site opened in April 2001, Chatham-Kent has received $16,146,767.
These payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.
“OLG’s Municipal Contribution Agreement payments are building strong communities where people and families can enjoy a high quality of life,” said Peter Bethlenfalvy, Minister of Finance, in a media release. “These revenues help support local program and critical infrastructure, making a real difference for gaming host municipalities.”
Where and how was this money spent in CK?
Maybe investigate that.
