Officer assaulted
It appears a woman was not ready to leave last night from an address in Chatham.
As a result, the police were called. And while officers assisted the woman in her exit, police say she tried to punch one of them.
A 30-year-old Chatham woman was arrested for assaulting a police officer.
She was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters for lodging.
The woman was to be released at a later time to prevent the continuation of the offence.
Warrant arrests in Wallaceburg
The courts said one thing, yet, according to police, two Wallaceburg people did just the opposite.
Shortly before 5 p.m. on Thursday, someone called the Chatham-Kent Police Service about a well-being check on two individuals under the Murray Street Bridge in Wallaceburg.
When officers showed up, they found a man and a women there. A couple of questions later, and officers realized that both parties were on conditions not to be around one another, police say.
Both parties were arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where a 51-year-old Wallaceburg woman was released with a future court date and a 30-year-old Wallaceburg man was held for bail, as it was later determined he had outstanding warrants.
