2 more COVID deaths in C-K

Two more Chatham-Kent residents have died of COVID-19.

The two were women, in their 90s, who died at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

The death toll from COVID-19 to date in Chatham-Kent is 38.

There were 32 people in hospital at the CKHA with COVID-19 Wednesday. Thirteen of the 32 came to the hospital for other reasons and tested positive for the virus, hospital officials said.

Sixteen of the 32 are unvaccinated. Of the unvaccinated, seven of them are in the ICU/PCU. There are no vaccinated individuals in either of these heightened care units.

Four unvaccinated COVID-19 patients are in the ICU. All are on ventilators.

The oldest patient in hospital with COVID is 101, while the youngest is just 34, and the average age is 70.
