Another 15 COVID cases for C-K

CK Public Health reports another 15 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours in the municipality.

As well, 13 cases were deemed resolved, so we are up two cases to 140 active in Chatham-Kent.

There are still 15 people in Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with COVID, and six of those are in the ICU.

Four of those are on ventilators, hospital officials report.

Of those in hospital, three are fully vaccinated. One of those is in the ICU, but not on a ventilator.

There is a new area of outbreak in Chatham-Kent today, while two other outbreaks were declared over. École élémentaire catholique Sainte-Marie in Chatham, with three cases, is the new one. A place of worship and a workplace have been taken off the list.

Five elementary schools, a place of worship and a manufacturing facility are still in outbreak in Chatham-Kent.

In Ontario, there were 928 new cases over the past 24 hours. Of those, 424 were unvaccinated, 401 were fully vaccinated, 77 did not have vaccination information, and 26 were partially vaccinated.

As well, positive test percentages for COVID-19 reached 3.8 per cent, as more than 26,000 tests were run Monday. The positivity rate is at its highest since the end of May when rates hit 4.3 per cent.
