B&E charges
On Monday around 5 p.m., Chatham-Kent police responded to a break and enter at a business on King Street West in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that the man forced his way into the business and stole several bottles of alcohol while smashing another bottle.
With the assistance of an observant citizen, officers identified the man responsible. He was located a short time later on Wellington Street West.
A 31-year-old man, of no fixed address, is charged with break and enter while committing a theft, and mischief. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Suspended licences
Just before 1 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol observed a man driving on Park Street in Chatham. The officer recognized the man, who is known to be suspended from driving for unpaid fines.
The officer initiated a traffic stop and the man was arrested.
A 29-year-old Chatham man was charged with driving while under suspension.
His vehicle was towed from the scene.

About a half hour later, an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on McNaughton Avenue East between Victoria Avenue and Elizabeth Street in Chatham.
Through investigation, the officer learned that the woman was driving while under suspension.
A 19-year-old woman was charged and will be required to attend Provincial Offences Court.
Her vehicle was towed from the scene.
