Tempers flare, men charged
On Monday, a man and his ex-common-law wife engaged in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical altercation.
Through investigation, Chatham-Kent police learned that this was not the first incident of domestic violence during their relationship.
Yesterday morning, a 36-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with criminal harassment, two counts of assault and two counts of uttering threats.
He was also arrested on an outstanding Highway Traffic Act warrant.

Yesterday morning, police received information about a domestic disturbance that occurred throughout the previous evening while a couple was camping in the Blenheim area. Through investigation, police say that during a verbal argument, the man assaulted this girlfriend, damaged her phone and threatened her.
Officers located the man and he was taken into custody.
A 40-year-old Highgate man has been charged with assault causing bodily harm, mischief, and uttering threats. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Tossed in the drunk tank
Around 10:30 p.m. last night, police responded to a family dispute in Wallaceburg.
Through investigation, police learned that an intoxicated woman left the home, following a verbal argument with family members. Officers located the woman in a nearby park. For her own safety, the woman was taken into custody, as she was unable to care for herself.
A 21-year-old woman has been charged with being intoxicated in a public place. She will be released when sober.
Cops monitoring school zones
Yesterday morning, members of the Traffic Unit conducted speed enforcement in the area of community safety zones around schools in Chatham.
Fifteen motorists were stopped and charged with speeding. Three (motorists were charged with illegally parking in the area of schools.
Police say they will be keeping a close eye out at the various community safety zones around schools as children return to school.
