Prizes to ride.

That’s what’s being offered by a group of local organizations to local residents who take part in the 2021 edition of the CK Trail Challenge.

Bike Month Contest takes place from until Sept. 4, with the aim of encouraging residents to rediscover the benefits of movement by engaging in active transportation.

Cycling, walking, running, skateboarding and rollerblading are among the activities being encouraged.

Throughout the event, the community’s collective activity will be tracked to see how many kilometres local residents can travel.

Each week, six names will be chosen at random for a prize and featured on the Chatham-Kent Trails social media pages.

The effort is a partnership between Chatham-Kent, Parks, Recreation and Cemeteries; CK Public Health; C-K Trails Council; Ontario Parks; and the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority.

To enter, access the link http://forms.gle/7PycsLnVaSkfdb8M6 or check out the municipality’s webpage.

The trail booklet and map can be picked up at Chatham-Kent municipal centres, local libraries, Rondeau Park and Smith Cycle.
