Assault charges
Last week, Chatham-Kent police received information regarding domestic violence between a couple in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that the man assaulted his common-law partner on two separate occasions during their relationship.
Yesterday morning, the man attended police headquarters and turned himself in to police.
A 42-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm and two counts of assault.
B&E charges
Last week, police responded to a break and enter at Value Village on Keil Drive in Chatham, where various items, valued at approximately $500 were stolen.
Through investigation, police identified the man responsible.
Last night, police located the man and he was arrested.
A 25-year-old Chatham man was charged with break and enter and failing to comply with his release conditions. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Stop contacting her!
Yesterday afternoon, police learned that a man was contacting his ex-girlfriend, regardless of being on conditions not to communicate with her.
Over a period of four days, the woman received approximately 50 unwanted text messages and telephone calls from the man.
Officers located the man and he was arrested.
A 25-year-old man, of no fixed address, was charged with uttering threats, criminal harassment and failing to comply with his Probation Order. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Stolen ride
Sometime between last night at 10 p.m. and this morning at 6 a.m., someone stole a black 2016 Ford Focus from a residence on Carnation Court.
The vehicle was last seen with Ontario license plates 6V2013.

Jewelry stolen
This morning, shortly after midnight, police responded to an alarm at Bibles for Missions Thrift Store on Wellington Street West.
Through investigation, police learned that someone forced their way into the store, causing about $1,000 damage. Once inside, the suspect(s) stole $100 worth of jewelry.

Bike stolen
Sometime between Sunday at 9 p.m. and yesterday at 9 a.m. someone forced their way into a garage on Blythewood Crescent.
Once inside, the suspect(s) stole a ‘We the People’ BMX bike with blue camouflaged tires, valued at approximately $1,000.

Collisions
Yesterday morning, police responded to a two-vehicle collision on St. Clair Street near Oxley Drive in Chatham.
No one was injured.
Total damage was estimated at $25,000.
A 30-year-old Chatham man was charged with failing to stop for a red light.

Late yesterday afternoon, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Lindsay Road between Eberts Line and Brook Line.
Minor injuries were reported.
Total damage was estimated at $5000.
A 17-year-old Dresden teen was charged with careless driving and being a G1 driver not accompanied by a qualified driver.
