Wallaceburg woman badly hurt in crash
On Saturday morning around 5:40 a.m., Chatham-Kent police responded to a serious two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Kimball Road and Langstaff Line.
Both drivers were transported to hospital in Wallaceburg for medical attention. A 24-year-old Wallaceburg woman was treated for minor injuries.
A 71-year-old Wallaceburg man was transferred to London via air ambulance for medical treatment of serious injuries.

Serious domestic abuse
Shortly after 1 a.m. this morning, police responded to a disturbance at a residence in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that the man had violently assaulted his girlfriend during an argument. They were both found at another residence in Chatham, police say, with the woman hiding in a closet.
A 20-year-old Chatham woman was transported to hospital with serious injuries. She has since been transferred to London for further medical attention.
A 37-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and forcible confinement. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Threats and non-compliance
Yesterday, police responded to a family disturbance at a residence in Tilbury.
Through investigation, police learned that the woman was currently on conditions not to attend this residence or communicate with the homeowners.
A 25-year-old Tilbury woman was arrested and charged with uttering threats and six counts of failing to comply with her release conditions. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Stolen Durango
Sometime yesterday morning between 3 a.m. and 8 a.m., someone stole a black 2021 Dodge Durango from a residence on Nelson Street.
The vehicle was last seen with Ontario license plates AZJB 677.

Update on suspicious van report
It turns out a couple of guys who chatted up a young girl in her backyard about the family’s fibre optics and Internet are employed to install such infrastructure.
Police say, as previously released, last Thursday afternoon around 2:15 p.m. a white van, bearing Ontario license plates BD 69460, attended a residence on the north side of Chatham.
Two male occupants, entered the backyard of a residence and asked the young girl doing her homework outside about the family’s Internet and fibre optics.
The men left when the girl called a family member and took a photo of the van. At no time, did the men attempt to lure the girl away from her home or make physical contact with her.
Through investigation, police identified the van and spoke with the general manager, who advised that they were contracted to provide burial line services in the area.
Police say their crews will be spoken to in an effort to avoid any further public safety concerns.
