Sir: On behalf of Outreach for Hunger and all the families we serve, I want to thank Mr. Chris Gutteridge, the students of Ursuline College, St. Joseph’s, St. Vincent and St. Ursula’s in Chatham, as well as St. Ann in Blenheim for walking the streets collecting canned goods on Halloween in an effort to scare hunger in Chatham-Kent.
The rain did not dampen their spirits as they spent the evening knocking on doors and asking for support for their hungry neighbours.
Chatham-Kent has been very generous in the past and continues to be a community that truly cares about our neighbours and our children. We are so very fortunate to know that we have among us a group of young citizens who will carry on to ensure that every citizen has a nutritional meal on their table tonight.
For the donations that were delivered to Outreach for Hunger, I say thank you for a job well done. Your efforts and your donations have made a difference to so many. I continue to be proud to call Chatham-Kent my home.
