Brickhead move
Chatham-Kent police say a man lobbed a brick at police headquarters yesterday.
The brick connected with a glass door on the south side of the building, and shattered it.
It was the middle of the afternoon. Officers located the man in the rear parking lot of police headquarters and he was arrested.
A 48-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with mischief under $5000. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Fender bender, folowed by impaired charges
Yesterday, around 5 p.m., police responded to a single motor vehicle collision near the cemetery in Bothwell.
Through investigation, police believed the woman was driving while under the influence of a drug. The woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters where a Drug Recognition Expert conducted an evaluation.
As a result, the DRE officer believed the woman was impaired by a drug.
Upon being searched incident to arrest, the woman was also found to be in possession of suspected cocaine.
A 57-year-old Bothwell woman is charged with impaired driving and drug possession. She was released pending a future court date.
Impaired driving, impaired thinking
Shortly after 7 p.m. last night, police responded to the area of Rivard Line in Dover Township in regard to a woman who had been left on the side of the road by her boyfriend.
The woman was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention.
Officers located the man at a nearby trailer park and through investigation believed he was driving while under the influence of alcohol. The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests.
A 57-year-old Windsor man has been charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. He was released pending a future court date.
Mischief
Last night, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Chatham Township.
Prior to police arrival, the man left the residence in the woman’s vehicle.
Through investigation, police learned that the man damaged a door in the home over the weekend.
Officers located the man in Tilbury and he was arrested.
A 37-year-old Chatham man has been charged with mischief under $5,000. He was released pending future court date.
B&E and drug charges
Around midnight, police responded to a break and enter in progress at Goodwill Industries on National Road in Chatham.
Officers located the man on the property and he was arrested.
Upon being searched incident to arrest, the man was found to be in possession of stolen property, full face mask, gloves, flashlight, wire cutters and suspected methamphetamine.
A 37-year-old Chatham man has been charged with break and enter, being in possession of property obtained by a crime, being in possession of break-in instruments and drug possession. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Canoes don’t self-portage
Sometime between Sunday at 6 p.m. and yesterday at 6 a.m., someone stole a green 13-foot Nova Craft trapper canoe from a building on the property at the Chatham0-Kent Children’s Safety Village.
Total value of the theft has been estimated at $1,500.

Theft from Wallaceburg Museum
Around 1:30 a.m. this morning, police responded to an alarm at the Wallaceburg Museum on King Street.
Through investigation, police learned that someone forced their way into the building and stole a laptop computer.
