A 54-year-old Wallaceburg man faces a bail hearing this morning after another man was slashed with a knife.

Chatham-Kent police say they responded to an altercation on Park Street in Wallaceburg Tuesday night just before 8 p.m.

Police say a man confronted another and the two started arguing. It got physical and police allege the suspect hit the other man in the head, pushed him to the ground, threatened him and then slashed him across the arm with a knife.

The suspect then fled the scene on foot, police say, but was apprehended on Henry Street a short time later.

The victim, a 53-year-old Wallaceburg man, did not seek medical treatment.

The 54-year-old man faces charges of assault, uttering threats and assault with a weapon.
