Playing possum or possum playing?

This little fella and its mate wandered into a north Chatham backyard on a recent spring morning, taking time to smell everything, including this plastic table that winds had knocked down.

The curiosity saw the pair casually wander the yard despite the fact possums are typically nocturnal in nature.
