A scary moment in Wallaceburg yesterday afternoon as police say a man assaulted a woman while she was driving … with her infant child in the vehicle.
Chatham-Kent police say on Wednesday afternoon, a verbal argument broke out in a vehicle while a woman was driving in Wallaceburg. The man and their infant child were also in the vehicle, according to police, and the argument turned physical, as the man assaulted the woman while she was driving.
The woman stopped and tried to get out of the vehicle, but the man grabbed her jacket, briefly detaining her. She broke free and the altercation continued outside the vehicle, police say.
Everyone returned to the vehicle and went home, where the man threatened the woman, police say, and at that time the cops received a phone call.
A 28-year-old Wallaceburg man is charged with assault, forcible confinement and uttering threats.
