Thieves hit Playback Sports

Someone broke into Playback Sports in Chatham last night, doing half as much in damage as what they stole in dollar value.

Police say sometime between 6 p.m. Thursday and 8:50 a.m. Friday, someone forced their way into the Richmond Street business, doing about $1,000 in damage.

The thieves stole the cash box and a host of items:

  • Easton hockey sticks, Synergy 20 and 60 brands;
  • Elite pink hockey laces;
  • Hockey tape;
  • Cutter football gloves
  • Rawlings baseball batting gloves
  • Reebok 20K upright hockey bags; and
  • Easton Jr. hockey bag with wheels.

Total value of the theft is pegged at $2,000.
