It wasn’t exactly a scene out of the CSI TV show, but Chatham-Kent police used DNA to help make an arrest in a September break-in.
On Sept. 19, officers attended the scene of a break-in at an Indian Creek Road home where someone stole various tolols out of a garage.
They also went to the sight of another break and enter in the area, where tools, booze, food and a couple of guns were stolen.
Police recovered the firearms a week later, but were still looking for who stole them.
On Nov. 3, police say they received a DNA profile from the Centre of Forensic Sciences, and that profile matched a local man.
Last night, officers arrested a 31-year-old Chatham man and charged him with two counts of break and enter, two of possession of stolen property and four firearm offences.
