A Chatham man is in police custody for violating his probation conditions.
Yesterday afternoon while on general patrol, police stopped a man with regards to a theft investigation. The 20-year-old Chatham male was found to be in possession of several knives, a billy club and a small quantity of drugs. Through further investigation it was determined the man was on conditions not to possess any weapons.
The man was subsequently arrested for breach of probation and possession of a controlled substance. He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service and held for a bail hearing.
