Chatham Pool Shark Maddy Broad has struck gold, taking first in the 50 metre backstroke in her age group at the national swimming competition going on in Calgary.
Broad has two medals after two events in Calgary – a silver in the 200m back to go with her gold.
Genevieve Sasseville finished 8th in the 100 metre free swim on Thursday evening.
