Around 1:50 a.m. this morning, police responded to a disturbance in an apartment building in Chatham. Police learned that a man and woman were drinking with friends in an apartment, and as the woman returned to her apartment a fight began between her and the man. The woman grabbed a mirror and struck the man in the head shattering glass all over the floor in the hallway.
The 34-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and facilitating a breach as the man was on conditions not to communicate with her.
The 35-year-old Chatham man was also arrested for breaching his release conditions. He was charged with three counts of failing to comply.
Both the man and woman have been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
