Witnesses needed in car-pedestrian crash

CKpoliceservicelogoAround 3:45 p.m. yesterday afternoon, emergency crews responded to a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian on Grand Avenue West between Ursuline Avenue and Violet Street in Chatham.

A 25-year-old woman was crossing Grand Avenue outside of the crosswalk when she was struck by a passing vehicle. The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention. The 72-year-old female driver was not injured.

Police are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the collision. Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Ian Scoyne at ians@chatham-kent.ca or 519-436-6600 extension #87292.
