No one was injured in a house fire in Chatham on Monday night.
Chatham-Kent firefighters were called out to 79 Patteson Ave. in Chatham shortly after 9 p.m. They arrived to see visible smoke and flames emanating from the home.
Officials report extensive fire damage in the room of origin for the blaze.
Crews opened up the roof to fight the fire from above, but also had to deal with strong wings.
Fire officials say water damage from battling the fire impacted most of the house, resulting in an estimated $200,000 in damage.
The cause is undetermined.
