Intimate partner violence
Despite being under orders to not go near his ex, police say a Chatham man is now facing charges, including two counts of assault.
Police say on Tuesday evening, shortly after 8 p.m., they were called to a Chatham residence. Two people had been bound by court orders to not go near each other, due to a prior encounter of the former partners.
However, despite being told to stay away from the woman’s residence, it appears the man ignored that order.
They argued; it got violent and the man left, police say, before officers arrived.
Police were able to locate the man, and they made the arrest.
