Chatham-Kent celebrated Word Autism Day April 2 with its first-ever event at Flying Squirrel.
Thanks to a partnership between Chatham-Kent Professional Firefighters Association, the Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent and the Flying Squirrel, 80 youngsters were treated to an hour of free play at the Richmond Street facility.
Tysin, 8, and his mom Tiffany Target were part of the fun.
Emergency vehicles and first responders were also on scene giving children a chance to become more familiar with the services.
