A Chatham man is up on drug charges after police pulled him over and searched his residence on Wednesday.
Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service’s intelligence unit initiated the traffic stop on King Street in Chatham while officers executed a warrant at a residence on Gray Street at the same time.
Police say the effort was part of an ongoing drug investigation.
During the traffic stop, police say a man was found to be in possession of 49 grams of fentanyl, more than nine grams of cocaine and a large quantity of cash.
The raid on the residence yielded a small amount of fentanyl, as well as digital scales and packaging materials.
A 48-year-old Chatham man is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking for both cocaine and fentanyl.
