On Monday, police got a tip that someone was trying to peddle a tankless heater on a social media site, and the device matched the description of the one stolen.
Officers investigated and traced the listing to a local residence.
They arrested a 34-year-old Chatham man and charged him for possession of stolen property.
The missing heater was returned to its rightful owner.
