More info sought in weekend collision

Chatham-Kent police are hoping to speak to witnesses of a weekend collision involving a pickup truck and a mobility scooter in Chatham.

On Saturday, at about 3 p.m., emergency crews were called to the corner of McNaughton Avenue and St. Clair Street in Chatham. An eastbound pickup struck an elderly man who was crossing the street on a mobility scooter, police say.

The pedestrian, a 74-year-old Chatham man, sustained life-

threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital in Chatham and later transferred for further treatment at a Windsor hospital.

The driver of the truck, a 41-year-old Thamesville woman, wasn’t hurt.

The Chatham-Kent Traffic Management unit is currently investigating this collision.

Police would like to speak with anyone with information or who may have witnessed anything suspicious during this time.
