One person was injured during a fire on Timmins Crescent Wednesday night, and the Office of the Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate the blaze at the fourplex.
Chatham-Kent firefighters got the call shortly after 8:30 p.m. for a structure fire at 153 Timmins.
Stations 1 and 2 responded, and firefighters arrived to see flames coming out of a second-floor window.
Quick action by the first responders helped contain the fire to one bedroom, but smoke and water damage extended throughout the rest of that unit.
However, the remaining units were left unscathed.
A resident suffered some smoke inhalation and a burn to their hand while trying to battle the fire before fleeing the unit.
Damage is estimated at $100,000.
Despite calling in the fire marshal, the cause of the fire is being listed as accidental.
