Less than two days after a driver died in the area, a passenger in another vehicle had to be airlifted to hospital near Merlin early Tuesday morning.
Chatham-Kent police say the single-vehicle accident took place around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Talbot Trail and Merlin Road.
On Sunday Morning, only a few kilometres to the east, a 37-year-old man died in a two-vehicle crash on Talbot Road.
This time around, police say there were three men in the vehicle that crashed. Two were able to get out of the vehicle on their own, but the third had injuries that prevented him from getting out of the wreck.
All three men had suffered serious injuries, police say, but paramedics arrived on scene and determined one needed to be immediately airlifted to hospital.
Police say officers believed the driver, a 27-year-old man, was impaired.
As a result, he faces charged.
