Residents of Chatham-Kent are invited to an open house on Oct. 5 at the Chatham Islamic Centre.
October is Islamic Heritage Month, and the centre wishes to showcase the rich history, culture, and contributions of Muslims in Canada and around the world to local residents.
The open house takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 5 at the centre, which is located at 310 McNaughton Ave. W. in Chatham.
“The Chatham Islamic Centre has always been a welcoming space for the local Muslim community, offering a place for worship, education, and support. But CIC is not just for Muslims – it is a part of the wider Chatham community. We believe that by opening our doors, we can foster greater understanding and build bridges of love and friendship with our neighbors,” centre officials said in a media release.
