Family fracas leads to assault charges

A Wednesday afternoon family dispute in Tilbury has led to charges.

The altercation took place about 4:20 p.m. on Park Lane.

Officers learned a verbal argument occurred between the man and two adult family members. The argument escalated resulting in the man assaulting both family members, police say.

A 73-year-old Tilbury man is charged with two counts of assault.
Threats

A Cottam man faces charges after someone threatened a woman’s well-being Thursday evening.

Police investigated the complaint, which originated from a residence on Middle Line in Tilbury North Township.

Police learned a woman received a phone call from a former partner, during which he made comments with intentions to cause her physical harm, officers say.

Ontario Provincial Police located and arrested the man at his home in Cottam.

A 24-year-old Cottam man was transported to Chatham-Kent Police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He has been charged with uttering threats.
