Man tries to flee; arrested

A Chatham man faces multiple charges after someone tried to drive away from police Wednesday morning.

Chatham-Kent police say the man was finally arrested on Forest Street shortly after 10 a.m.

A 44-year-old Chatham man is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and flight from the police, failing to attend court, possession of stolen property, operating a motor vehicle will be prohibited, two counts of failing to comply with a probation order and several Provincial Offences.

Fraud

A Chatham man faces fraud charges following an arrest early Wednesday morning.

Police say the arrest took place shortly after 1 a.m. on Grand Avenue West.

A 20-year-old Chatham man is charged with three counts of possession of stolen property, three counts of fraud, three counts of unauthorized use of credit card data.

Warrants

A 29-year-old Chatham woman was arrested on Princess Street in Chatham at 4:26 p.m., on a surety relief warrant.

The woman was held pending a bail hearing.

She is currently facing the following charges: failing to attend court, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, three counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, four counts of carless storage of a firearm, five counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

A 27-year-old Chatham man was returned to Chatham-Kent Police Service from the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia due to an outstanding unendorsed warrant. He was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: assault with a weapon, mischief, two counts of failing to comply with an appearance notice, and two counts of failing to attend court

Failing to comply

A 32-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested on Brabaw Street in Wallaceburg for failing to comply with a probation order. He faces charges of failing to comply with a probation order.
