Chatham-Kent police had a busy time of it from Tuesday morning to early Wednesday morning, just for scooping up people who missed their court dates.
A total of eight people earned trips in the back of cruisers from about 8 a.m. Tuesday until about 4 a.m. Wednesday for failing to attend court.
7:58 a.m. – A 31-year-old Chatham woman was arrested on King Street in Chatham for failing to attend court for fingerprints. She was processed and released. She is currently facing the following charges: failing to comply with a probation order.
9:05 a.m. – A 34-year-old Chatham man was arrested on Grand Avenue West in Chatham for failing to attend court. He is currently facing the following charges: resist a peace officer, obstruct the police, possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of stolen property, two counts of theft and two counts of mischief.
11:17 a.m. – A 19-year-old Harwich Township woman was arrested at the Ontario Court of Justice on Grand Avenue West in Chatham for failing to attend court. She is currently facing the following charges: public mischief and failing to attend court.
12:42 p.m. – A 48-year-old Chatham man was arrested on Grand Avenue West in Chatham for failing to attend court. He is currently facing the following charges: unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of firearm/ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, failing to comply with a probation order, and two counts of failing to attend court.
4:30 p.m. – A 24-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested on Murray Street in Chatham for failing to attend court. She is currently facing the following charges: failing to comply with a probation order.
9:11 p.m. – A 39-year-old Walpole Island man was arrested on King Street in Wallaceburg for two warrants for failing to attend court. He is currently facing the following charges: theft, possession of stolen property, unauthorized possession of a weapon, failing to comply with a recognizance, failing to comply with a release order, three counts of failing to attend court and seven counts of failing to comply with an appearance notice.
10:45 p.m. – A 30-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested on Brabaw Street in Wallaceburg for failing to attend court. She is currently facing the following charges: possession of stolen property, and two counts of failing to attend court.
3:56 a.m. – A 44-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested on Colborne Street in Chatham for failing to attend court. He is currently facing the following charges: mischief, failing to comply with a probation order and two counts of failing to attend court.
