Editor: My wife and I moved to Chatham about four months ago. It is our town now.
But we are constantly amazed at the garbage thrown on the ground. Have people no pride in their town?
Although I am quite arthritic, I do pick up what I can when the garbage containers are out.
In one of the malls, I picked up garbage just eight inches from the garbage container!
Talk about civic pride. Maybe they just don’t care?

I live near the highschool where there are several garbage receptacles along the way from St. Clair St.,and the same applies .
We pick up garbage off our lawn every school day,as I walk McNaughton I see garbage thrown next to receptacles!
Teachers need to remind students loitering is not an option!
