Chatham-Kent police say they are seeking a woman they had in their cells at the end of July. At the time, they just didn’t know there was an alleged $187,000 in drugs stashed in her vehicle.

Police pulled over a vehicle on King Street on July 30 near Adelaide Street in Chatham.

The woman driving provided a Quebec driver’s license that was determined to be fake, police say.

The woman was arrested. A search incident to arrest produced a valid Ontario driver’s license with a photo, correcting identifying the woman.

During her arrest, a large amount of currency and scales were spotted inside the vehicle. The motor vehicle was towed pending judicial authorization.

That authorization was received Aug. 7. The C-K police’s intelligence unit sought and received a search warrant for the vehicle at that time.

In the meantime, the 21-year-old Hamilton woman, Raghdah Saad Taha Al-Janabi, was charged back in late July with obstructing police, possessing a forged document with intent, and using the forged document.

Al-Janabi was released by the court with conditions and a future court appearance of Sept. 6.

However, the Aug. 7 search of her vehicle, police say, produced nearly $13,000 in cocaine, more than $119,000 in methamphetamine, in excess of $55,000 in fentanyl, some cash, digital scales, a knife and a gold watch.

As a result, Al-Janabi is wanted for possession of a prohibited weapon and three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

If you know the whereabouts of this person or anyone on the Chatham-Kent Most Wanted List, police ask that you call them at 911 or 519-352-1234, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).  Information leading to the arrest may be eligible for a cash reward.
