An education session designed to familiarize first-time school bus riders heading to the classroom will be held in Chatham on Aug. 17.
Parents who want to prepare their youngsters for the experience can attend the event to be held at Ursuline College Chatham from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Children will view a short, animated safety video in the free session, followed by an opportunity to go for a short bus ride.
In addition, trainers will also be on site to talk with families about basic school bus safety rules, how to cross a street safely and how to evacuate a bus.
Each session is about 30 minutes long and is available to both public and Catholic school students.
UCC is located at 85 Grand Ave. W. in Chatham.
