Chatham-Kent police officers responded to a weapons call shortly before 8 p.m. Monday night, as witnesses reported seeing a man with an AK-4747 assault rifle.
The man was spotted running with the weapon on Grand Avenue East in Chatham.
An officer spotted the man and made the arrest.
Police say the weapon was an airsoft rifle that resembled an AK-47.
However, police say the man was also confirmed to be bound by a weapons prohibition order.
A 47-year-old Chatham man was arrested and released with a future court date.
