Dispute leads to assault charges

A Tecumseh man faces assault charges after a dispute on Park Avenue East Sunday morning.

Police were called and learned someone threatened another person and then assaulted them.

Later that day, a 55-year-old Tecumseh man attended Chatham-Kent police headquarters and turned himself in. He is charged with uttering threats and assault with a weapon.

Vehicle hit by bullet, police believe

Police are looking for more information in what they are calling a case of mischief, except it is believed to involve a bullet.

On Friday, about 6 p.m., police say a vehicle parked at a residence on Wallace Street in Thamesville was struck in the window with what is believed to be a bullet from a .22 calibre firearm.

Police say this is considered to be an isolated incident and that there is no threat to public safety.

Disturbing behaviour

On Sunday evening, about 8:45 p.m., police responded to a disturbance on Wedgewood Avenue in Chatham.

Upon arrival, officers located a woman and confirmed she was wanted on several outstanding warrants related to theft investigations and failing to attend court. The woman was arrested.

A 42-year-old Chatham woman faces charges of failing to attend court, two counts of theft and two counts of possession of stolen property.
