To Blenheim males face assault charges after an altercation during Cherryfest.
Chatham-Kent police began investigating on the evening of July 18.
The officer learned while attending the festival, the victims were approached by a group of youths, known to them. The youths taunted the victims and subsequently assaulted them, police say.
As a result of the altercation, the victims sustained minor physical injuries.
On Wednesday, police located the two suspects and arrested them. A 14-year-old male youth and a 19-year-old man, both of Blenheim, are charged with assault.
Bail violations
Police say a local man faces charges after police say he contacted a woman the courts had prohibited from communicating with.
Officers learned the man had contacted the woman several times via social media and text messages, police say. The man was prohibited from contacting the woman as outlined in an order of undertaking from May, and a probation order from last December.
They arrested a 21-year-old Chatham-Kent man. He is currently charged with three counts of failing to comply with an undertaking and four counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
Man buzzes through red light; faces impaired charges
A Chatham man faces impaired driving charges someone drove through a red light early Thursday morning.
An officer watched the vehicle travel through a red light on Grand Avenue East in Chatham shortly after midnight.
The officer pulled over the vehicle and believed the man driving to be under the influence of alcohol. The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for breath tests. The officer also learned the man was prohibited from operating a motor vehicle.
A 44-year-old Chatham man was charged with prohibited driving, impaired driving and having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.
